Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Coburn and Rachel York Smith of Bryson City, NC, and his brother, Doyle Smith, also of Bryson City.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Robin; his four children, Paul Frady of Fletcher, NC, Samantha Frady of Hot Springs, NC, Lane Smith of Knoxville, TN, and Tommy Frady of Asheville, NC; his sisters, Jackie Talley (Len) of Seneca, SC, and Christine Hoyle of Forest City, NC; and his brother, Buford Smith of Bryson City, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
A 1972 graduate of Swain County High School, Perry was an avid hiker and enjoyed fly fishing, particularly at Deep Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Bryson City.

A Celebration of Life to be held at Solid Rock Full Gospel Church 4154 NW Hwy 25/70, Hot Springs NC 28743 on Sunday March 22, at 2:00 pm.
