John Vasone Obituary

John Vasone
John Bruce Vasone, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. John was born in Stamford, CT, on February 9, 1953, son of the late Albino Joseph Vasone and Ursula Garschke Vasone.
John grew up in Darien, CT in an extremely loving household with his parents and four siblings. He was an outstanding athlete, lettering in both baseball and football at Darien High School.
John attended the University of Miami in Florida, where he met one of his best friends, Tom Markham. After his freshman year, he took his talents to the University of New Hampshire, where he finished his college career as a member of the UNH Wildcats football team. He was also a brother of the TKE fraternity, Alpha Nu chapter, where he was affectionately known as "The Friendly One", and forged many strong bonds with his brothers that he still held dearly throughout his life.
After college, John joined the beauty business where he created a long career for himself in Sales & Marketing across companies, ultimately retiring from Conair Corporation. He traveled significantly during his career, both domestically and internationally.
In 1986, he married Susan Farrell, in Westport, CT. They went on to raise two wonderful children, Tori and Nick. He was a devoted father and loved dearly by both of his children.
In 2016, he met Laura Boretsky and married her in Newport, RI in 2019 and they had a beautiful life together over the past several years along with Laura's four children.
John valued quality time around the dining table. He greatly enjoyed sharing culinary experiences with those he held dear. In addition to his family and friends, his loved ones included many pets throughout his life, whom he named with very creative canine monikers. John was a big guy, with a bigger personality, and the biggest heart. He had a tremendous spirit about him and will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his devoted wife Laura Bilcheck Boretsky of Shelton; his daughter Victoria Rose Vasone of Wallingford; his son John Nicholas Vasone and his wife Rachel of Fairfield. His stepchildren Kaitlynn Carlin and her husband Sean of South Carolina, Andrew Boretsky of Shelton, Julia Boretsky and her partner Shane Severe of Maryland, and Megan Boretsky of Shelton. His beloved granddaughters, Charlotte Rose Russell and Ella Lillian Carlin. His Aunt Rose DeVito of Darien. His siblings, Daniel Vasone of Florida, Heidi Vasone of North Carolina, Karl Vasone and his wife Cheryl of North Carolina, Susan Vasone of Florida. His furry companions AJ "Curly Whiskers", Max "Sugar Smacks Max" and D'Arcy "Louisiana Puppy Paws" (sorry Lexi). John is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews in the US, Germany and Italy.
