Shelby -- Cheryle Ann Blackemon, 66, of 5109 Circle Drive, Shelby, NC, went home to be with her Savior and Lord on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Cheryle was born August 29th, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Betty Sue Ham Blackemon. She was a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby, N.C She was a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church. She loved and was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cheryle enjoyed going to church and serving others in need. She strived to live a life in obedience to God's Word and teachings. She was truly a follower of Christ; not only through her words, but her actions as well.
Mrs. Blackemon was survived by six cousins, Danny Ham (Carla), Cyndi Ham Bisby (Bobby), Rita Ham Copeland (Alex), Jamie Ham (Summer), Angie Ham Henderson, and Jeff Ham (Kim).
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11th, 2025, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Keith Linzy officiating. Keith "Cajun" Manning, Jeff Ham, Scott Ham, Derek Ham, Danny Ham Jr., and Danny Ham Sr. will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC.
The family will be at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morning Star Baptist Church, 832 S. Post Road, Shelby, NC 29152.
