An unexplainable sadness envelopes you with the loss of a parent.
Chester 'Chet' Luszczek of Speedsville, NY passed away on the morning of October 21, 2021. Born in Endicott, NY on January 10, 1934 to the late Agnes and Lawrence Luszczek, Chet is survived by his wife Elizabeth 'Liz' Luszczek. His children Julie (Robert) Allen, Chester Jr. 'Chip' Luszczek, Christopher (Deborah) Luszczek, and Jody (Renee) Luszczek. Also surviving are several grandchildren Scott, Bradley, Christopher, Josh, Andy, and Hannah and great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his sisters Julia, Alice, and Thelma.
Dad was a dairy farmer through and through. He knew the animals and he knew the land. His favorite color was blue, Ford blue to be exact. Every tractor on the farm was a Ford, right down to the lawnmower. In his later years, he shocked us all by coming home with a shiny green lawn tractor.
He was polish and proud of it. He loved homemade pierogies, the polkas (although he wouldn't dance), Christmas Eve dinners with the family where we ate on hay by lantern light and he was in charge of the potatoes pancakes, and finally just a darn good joke polish or not. Chet retired from Cornell University following 20 plus years of service, doing the work he enjoyed and establishing many friendships.
Rest in peace Dad. We hope that there are lots of fields to plow, hay to bale, and wood to cut in Heaven.
A Farewell Service will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, October 28th at MacPherson Funeral Home. A Private internment will follow at Glenn Hope Cemetery, Jenksville. Memories and condolences may be written in Chet's guestbook at macphersonfh.com.
