Christopher Lynn Boone was born July 31, 1956 in Seymour to Roy and Yvonne Carrier Boone. He was a graduate of Seymour High School and began to cowboy for area ranchers as a day work employee. He worked mostly doctoring cattle on wheat pasture, honing his roping skills and training good horses. He roped calves for a period of time, hauling to rodeos and local jackpots in his fancy painted van and matching short shot trailer, which brought him lots of fun. Chris then became the owner of Brazos Stockyards, which consisted of preconditioning cattle for area ranchers and also bought, trained and sold quality performance horses across Texas. He was a respected consignor at major horse sales such as the San Antonio Ranch Gelding Sale and the Fort Worth Stock Show. Chris enjoyed a broodmare band for many years, raising quality foals to train for future ranch horses. Foaling season was one of his favorite times of year. He had a keen eye for a good horse or a sick yearling.
Following the close of that chapter in life, Chris obtained his insurance claims adjuster license. This kept him busy for several years, adjusting property losses and led to his interest in house flipping. He successfully bought and sold many pieces of real estate around the area the past several years. While trading properties, he also traded and collected guns. He was well educated in the gun trade business.
His love of guns could only be second to his love of a fancy vehicle. He had a passion for owning and driving trucks, cars, motorcycles or vans that were unique. He would stamp them with his own special mark. You could see, or in some cases hear, him coming for miles. Chris had fun and enjoyed life! He loved his friends to gather and swap cowboy stories, tell about re-rides and have a few cold brews. When his health began to fail, he maintained a positive attitude and continued attending gun shows and doing what he enjoyed with his limitations. He left his own unique mark in many places during his life.
He is survived by the 2 most loved and treasured people in his life, his children, McKenzie Boone and boyfriend, Blake and Cutter Boone; his mother, Yvonne Boone; 3 brothers, Sam Boone, Pat Boone and Johnny Gann; and 2 sisters, Cindy Hostas and Nancy Boone. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Boone and a sister, Janet Awalt.
