Chris Mitchell Hammett, 53, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, of Weatherford, passed from this life early on Thursday morning, November 4, 2021, in Granbury, Texas.
Chris was born on March 31, 1968, in Weatherford, to Doyle and Nannetta Hammett. Chris was a hot mess. His favorite saying was “stay in your lane” which he rarely did. He had a love for many things including sunflowers, candy, garage selling and music. Chris fought a battle his whole life, but his big heart was gold. He never met a stranger and he never forgot to pray before a meal. Chris was truly one of a kind!
Chris was preceded in death by his parents.
Chris is survived by his children, Victoria Hammett and fiancé, Kaleb Cross, Logan Hammett and Acacia Griebe, and Alex and wife, Cassidy Hammett; his grandchildren, Caraway, Charleigh, and August; his brother, Ricky and wife, Billie Jo Hammett of Weatherford; his sisters, Sherry Hammett of Tennessee, Melanie and husband, Jason Scott of Weatherford, and Amy and husband, Chris Jones of Anna, Texas; the mother of his children, Luann Robinson; his former wife, Nina Anderson; his niece, Maegan; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday morning, November 6, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
