Dorothy was born June 22, 1927, in Whitt, Parker County, Texas, to John and Flossie Pearson. She was the third of five children with two older brothers and two younger sisters. She enjoyed a wholesome and happy childhood dedicated to family and community.

Dorothy had a successful career in Federal Civil Service that began at the end of World War II. Initially she was employed doing clerical work at multiple military bases in Mineral Wells and San Antonio. After a break for marriage and children, she continued federal employment until her retirement in the mid-1980s as the Real Property Officer for Carswell Air Force Base, a position in which she earned the respect of many, including base leadership, for her hard work and dedication.

Dorothy was a faithful, lifelong Christian and lived out those values all through her life in acts of kindness and humble service to her family and others. Her generosity, good humor and sincere love will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her divorced husband, Oliver; and her siblings, Boley, Warren, Ada, and Anna, and their spouses.

She is survived by her sons, David R. Wenzel (Debbie) of Willow Park, and Douglas M. Wenzel of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Emily Campbell (Joe), and Joel Wenzel of Minneapolis; step-grandchildren, Michael Patrick (Katie) of Portland, and Jennifer Strain (Cory) of Saginaw; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Elijah, and Max of Minneapolis; step great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alex, and Yuan Fa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
