George David “Dave” Young, Jr. went home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 22, 2025. Dave was an active member of the Grace First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford, Texas, until prevented by health issues.

Dave was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Linda Coalson Young; his son, Gary David Young; his sister, Betty Young; and the following grandchildren: Marley Young Miller, D’mitri Hodnett, Dominic Hodnett, and Tyler David Young; along with one great-granddaughter, Milah Miller. Also surviving are these extended family members: Chad Hodnett, Stephanie Young, Saxon Munoz, Brian Munoz, Joy Ware Field, and John Ware.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Young; his brother, John; his sister, Peggy; his step-son, Benjamin Young; and his beloved daughter, Kellie Hodnett.

Dave served our country for 20 years in the U. S. Air Force working in Electrical Engineering. He loved flying and was a private pilot for many years.

He loved to sing and his deep bass voice was welcomed in church choirs, community choirs and in Schola Cantorum, a professional choir in Fort Worth.

A celebration of life service will be held at Grace First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Please, no flowers. Any gifts may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Grace First.
