Chris D. Keiter, 53, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully Friday night, October 3, 2025, at his home with his family by his side, following a courageous 2 month battle with small cell carcinoma.

Born in Harrisburg on Wednesday, October 6, 1971, he was the son of the late Peggy Yerges, 2001.

Chris was of the Christian faith.

He was employed with Rausch Creek Trailriders. He loved his job and always looked forward to going to work. His coworkers were like a second family to him.

Chris was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, spotting for deer with his friends, and going for rides in the mountain. He loved to spend time with his many friends at Shomper's Garage. His camp at Rausch Creek was his happy place. Chris was the definition of a jack-of-all-trades. Despite no formal training, he was known for his ability to fix anything, and he would spend countless hours working in his garage. Above all else, his family was his world. He and his wife April started dating 38 years ago when they were 15 and 14 years old, and he loved her deeply. He was also extremely proud of his two boys.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William Houtz, and his grandparents, Eleanor and Arthur Yerges. He was also predeceased by Terry King, who Chris viewed as a father figure.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 20 years, April Houtz Keiter; his two sons, Chris Keiter, Jr., Williamstown, and Dylan Keiter (Linzea), Valley View; his granddaughter Paislee; siblings, Raymond Keiter, Jr (Susan), Coal Township, Kelly Keiter, Florida, and Linda Ratteni, Carlisle; his mother-in-law, Shirley Houtz, Williamstown; his grandpups, Bruiser and Duke; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; many close friends who were like family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dimon Funeral Home, 644 E Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980, to help with expenses.
