Gary Lee Keiter, 83, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025.
Born in Winchester, Virginia, on November 13, 1941, Gary was the son of Lester Benjamin Keiter, Dorothy Nelson Allen, and stepmother Madolyn Brady Keiter. A 1960 graduate of John Handley High School, Gary was known for his school spirit and his role as the kicker on the football team - a point of pride he carried fondly throughout his life.
After high school, Gary moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where he attended Strayer Business College. In 1963, fate intervened when he met the love of his life, Sandra Schulze, on a blind date in Washington, D.C. The two quickly formed a deep connection, and after Gary's service in the U.S. Army in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, they married on February 20, 1965.
Gary and Sandra began their married life in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked as an auditor for Continental Insurance Company. His career later brought the family to West Palm Beach in 1972, and in 1975 they settled in Stuart, Florida, which became their cherished home. There, Gary joined CB Arbogast's firm, embarking on a fulfilling professional chapter marked by integrity and lasting friendships.
Beyond his career, Gary was devoted to serving his community. He was a proud member of the Rotary Club and active in the Salvation Army, finding purpose in giving back and helping others.
Gary's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sandra Schulze Keiter; his daughter Stephanie Keiter-Pesotski and her husband Robert Pesotski; and his beloved granddaughter Emily Pesotski, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Gary will be remembered for his kindness, his warm smile, his humor, and his steadfast love for family and community. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service celebrating Gary's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 2-5pm, at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel, 2001 SW Murphy Rd, Palm City, Florida 34990.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Military Warriors Support Foundation or America's Warrior Partnership, organizations close to Gary's heart.
