Chris Payne, 60 of Dingess, WV departed this life Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, WV.
He was born November 11, 1964, at Logan, WV to the late Bill and Margarette (Meade) Payne. In addition to his parents Chris was also preceded in death by his brother, Adam Odell Payne.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Shannon (Samantha) Payne of Barker Branch, Christopher Payne of AL, and Marcus (Jennifer) Payne of Twelve Pole; brothers, Allen (Eva) Payne of Marietta, OH, William (Hessie) Payne of Twelve Pole, Harold (Roberta) Payne of FL, and John Wayne Payne of Dingess; sisters, Janet (Larry) King of KY, Paulene (Mike) Culver of OH, Violet (Errney) Dingess of KY, Kimberlea (Dallas) Blackburn of KY, and Rebecca (Larry) Workman of Harts; 15 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Little Walnut United Baptist Church at Dingess with Pastor Tom Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the Elder Lee Payne Cemetery at Dingess. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, also at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to Akers-James Funeral Home to help with the expenses.
