Chris Scarberry
Age 51, of Camden, was tragically taken from us on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Chris was one of a kind — no nonsense, brutally honest, and full of grit, yet with a heart that opened wide to anyone who needed it. She was the kind of woman who told you exactly what she thought, but also made you feel like family. She became a second mom to so many, guiding with tough love, humor, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her son, Todd “TJ” Scarberry, Jr. She leaves behind her father and step-mother, Don and Joann Alvey; her husband of 18 years, Todd Scarberry, who adored every piece of her beautiful, crazy spirit; her children, Alicia, Alexia, and Dani; five grandchildren; her siblings; and countless friends who will forever carry her in their hearts.
Chris loved her family, her community, and life’s simple joys — whether that was sharing a laugh over a cold beer or lifting someone up when they needed it most. She lived unapologetically herself, and the outpouring of love from those whose lives she touched is proof of how deeply she will be missed.
Her legacy will live on in every story, every smile, and every life made better because she was part of it.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 29 from 5-7PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden. The funeral service will begin at 10AM on Saturday, August 30 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
