Christopher Paul Freeman passed away unexpectedly at his home in
Wheatland, Wyoming on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. In life, he was a patriot and a patriarch. His love for family and friends was profound and his opinions were never in doubt. He proudly served as a Seabee of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Con ict but rejected any label of hero. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Civil Engineering and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 26 years of service.
He loved Louis L'Amour novels and was consumed by rebuilding square body Chevys.
Chris was born Monday, July 5, 1948 in
Denver, Colorado, the rst of what would eventually be a clan of ten children to Milton and Isabel (Quinlivan) Freeman. He held a deep-rooted love of his hometown, but after the family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1966, he grew to love his newly adopted state. Although he devoted his career to the Texas DOT which began in 1985, he knew his heart was always in good ol' Wyoming, and returned with his wife in 2015. A devout football fan, he attended as many Wyoming games as possible in Laramie, often joined by siblings and his kids and probably never missed a single Broncos game on TV. He also remained devoted to his high school alma mater and even attended games at Mullen after his retirement.
He loved music and was a major in uence on every one of his younger siblings in the music he brought into the house. Although Milt and Izzy may not have always agreed with his choices, he was always focused on hearing the latest 'cool' music! He also loved everything about his country and fought his entire life for what he believed and was strong in upholding his ideals.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Cheryl of 40 years; their three children, Bethany
(Victor Quevedo), Shawnee (Daniel Price), and Nicholas (Courtney Riggin); seven grandchildren, Sienna, Owen, Grayson, Leon, Micah, Gordon, and Stevie; and siblings, Frances, James, Richard, Robert, LucyAnn, Mary Margaret "Peggy", and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Milton Freeman of Cheyenne, and brothers, Donald and Thomas.
In lieu of owers, please consider a donation to Annunciation Chapel, 290 East County Road 56, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80524 would be appreciated by his family.
