Christian D. Hayen Jr.

Christian (Chris) Didrick Hayen, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2025. Chris was born in Harlem, Montana on December 18, 1935 to Christian and Martha Hayen. He spent his childhood and a good portion of his young adult life in rural Montana until he left to navigate his career in many different places. One of these places being Cape Canaveral, Florida where he met his better half, Yvonne (Bunny) Riley. The two joined in 1965 and began their life together in Merritt Island, Florida.
Chris worked as an engineer, primarily for Morrison Knusden. During this time, Chris had the opportunity to work in many different places ranging from Utah and Alaska to Ohio and Hawaii; and, to one of his most talked about, Moscow, Russia. He also served 8 years in the Army reserves. Throughout the time spent between work and his time in the Army, Chris worked in 42 states and 19 different countries.
As time passed, Chris and Bunny headed to the Boise area for Chris's work. Idaho is where the two truly settled. Here they were actively involved in the lives of their friends, family and hobbies. Chris had a strong love for investment trading, horses, dogs, and of course, his great grandchildren. Chris was commonly known for his endless support, consistent encouragement, and lifelong lessons. His personality brought much laughter to all who he encountered.
Chris is survived by his grandchildren: Clint Worthington (wife Amber) and Kendra (Holomshek) James; great grandchildren: Lucas Worthington, Emma Worthington, and Aspen James. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Hayen; parents, Christian and Martha Hayen; daughter Toni Turnull & siblings. He will forever be remembered for his determined mindset, unwavering support, and endless jokes that will be greatly missed. Chris' work ethic, independence and strong personality was a cornerstone of who he was.
