Christian Staton Weir

Christian Staton Weir, age 24 of Cabot passed away tragically in a vehicle accident on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born August 2, 1999 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Bradley and Melanye Chapman Weir. Christian graduated from Cabot High School in 2018. He was a member of the 2016 Cabot High School State Championship Basketball Team. On May 6, 2023 he married Bailey Weathers in Cabot, Arkansas. They are expecting their first child, Graham Weir. Christian was a Detective for the Cabot Police Department. He is a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves where he has faithfully served his country the past two years. Christian was an avid duck hunter, golfer; loved snow skiing and was a sports fanatic especially basketball.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Jerry and Diane Chapman; paternal grandmother, Dana Weir. Christian is survived by his wife and newborn, Bailey and Graham Weir of the home; mother, Melanye Chapman of Cabot; father, Bradley Weir of Cabot; two brothers, J.C. (Hannah) Wilson and Kyle (Meagan) Wilson, all of Cabot; maternal grandmother, Donna Chapman of Cabot; paternal grandparents, Jack and Sandy Weir of Cabot; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Nicole Weathers of Cabot; brother-in-law, Bowen Weathers of Cabot; two nieces, Addison and Avery Wilson, both of Cabot; nephew, Jaxson Wilson of Cabot; grandparents-in-law, Larry and Diann Weathers of Cabot.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Mt. Zion Community Church with Robbin Haley officiating. Interment will follow at Glover Cemetery in Lonoke. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Casket bearers will be J.C. Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Drake Robertson, Trace Sparkman, Isiah Thomas and Jake Davis.
