Christie Nolan Johnson age 88 of Eupora, MS passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning on Monday, February 3, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Christie was born in Webster County, MS to Robert Cleveland Johnson and Mattie Bell Coleman Johnson. He was a graduate of Eupora High School Class of 1955 where he played football. After graduation, He became a Sailor and was employed by Seafarers International Union off and on for 61 years. Christie was a man of many talents. He enjoyed performing as a ventriloquist with his doll, Jessie. Christie loved to travel and traveled all over the world with his job. He went to the Holy Land, Germany, Belgium, Iran, Iraq and even attended the Grand Ole Opry Christmas Party where he met Roy Acuff, Marty Robinson, Randy Travis and Loretta Lynn. He loved God, his family and all of his friends and attended church at Crossway Church of God in Eupora, MS. Christie is survived by a long-time friend and caregiver, Dana Myers, Eupora, MS and a host of nieces, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cleveland Johnson and Mattie Bell Coleman Johnson; two sisters, Doris Johnson Chrismond and Daisy Mae Johnson and one brother, Robert Elton "Buster" Johnson. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Christie will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. The Johnson family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation from 1:00PM until time for services at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Eupora, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Mt. Zion Cemetery. Bro. Chris Ray will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Phillip Johnson, Gayden Johnson, Matt Johnson, Josh Johnson, Dannie Henderson and Richard Holland. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is entrusted with all arrangements for the Johnson family.
