Christina Renea Sloan, known affectionately as Christy Houston Sloan, passed away on June 11, 2024, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 50. Born on January 18, 1974, in Belleville, IL, Christy was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.
Christy was the cherished daughter of the late Ronald and Mary Houston. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Richard Sloan, and a loving mother to her daughter, Emma Sloan. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured them with the same compassion and care that she extended to all who knew her.
A lifelong learner and caregiver, Christy earned her Master's Degree in Nursing and dedicated her career to helping others as a BSN, MSN Nurse. Christy's professional life was marked by courage and a deep sense of duty, which earned her the respect and admiration of both her peers and the many lives she touched.
Beyond her professional achievements, Christy was known for her zest for life and her diverse interests. She was an enthusiastic football fan, a Harley Davidson motorcycle aficionado, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of a day at the beach or a competitive game of Yahtzee. Her spirit was as free and adventurous as the open road, and her laughter was as warm and inviting as the sun on the sand.
Those who knew Christy will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and courageous woman. She faced life's challenges with grace and emerged from them with an even greater capacity for love. Her presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of walking alongside her in this journey of life.
Christy's legacy is one of unwavering love, boundless faith, and courageous spirit. She will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
