A life too big and vivacious for this world left us too early on August 22nd, 2024. Christina Ann Hayes left this world after a courageous fight following brief, unexpected illness. She leaves us at only 60 years old, just 9 days after her milestone birthday.
She leaves behind the most important thing to her, which is her family. She is survived by her lifelong partner in crime and husband of 40 years Richard "Dick" Hayes. She is also survived by her three children Chad Hayes and his wife to be Shelby Britton, her daughter Courtney Winegard and husband Matt Winegard, and her youngest daughter Kayla Hayes and fiancé Joshua Lynn. The two smallest loves of her life will always know her through the stories told by her family, those are her grandsons Ryan Winegard and Parker Lynn.
Chrissy had an indescribable presence in a room to anyone that knew her. To know her is to know a dynamic, sarcastic, and colorful personality, one that is always the loudest and most ornery person in any situation. She loved everyone, but when she really loved you, you felt it with your entire soul. She had the uncanny ability to make you feel like you were the only person she cared about, but yet every person felt that way in her presence. She will always be remembered for buying people personalized gifts that "made her think of you", being the best cook in the kitchen and making huge meals for a standard Tuesday night dinner, and always how accident prone she was on any given day. She was always the first one to want to plan a party or make any event bigger than it needed to be, like a Sunday watching her favorite team, The Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is newly gone from this world, but will be missed beyond measure for the rest of her family's life.
In addition to her loving husband Richard, her children, and her grandsons she leaves behind her sister, Sheila, brothers Patrick, Larry, David, and Jimmy. She will also be dearly missed by her multiple nieces and nephews, along with their respective significant others. She is also survived by her mother, Virgina. She was preceded in death by her father James Bartlett and her in laws, Donald and Patricia Hayes.
As true testament to her caring, motherly nature as final exit from this world she gave the ultimate gift to three strangers awaiting organ donation. We only hope that those families blessed by her will get to continue to experience all the special moments with their loved ones that Chrissy will now miss with hers.
Her family would like to thank every doctor, nurse practitioner, nurse, and other staff member involved in her care in the neuro critical care unit at Ohio State University. There was never a moment that she wasn't receiving the most excellent and compassionate care possible over the last four weeks.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, because as we know, Chrissy could never pass up a good party.

Dick, Rudy, and family: From the first time we met Chrissy, to the last time we saw her beautiful face - Chrissy was smiling. She was one of the most caring, loving and genuine people we have ever met. When a beautiful soul leaves us; it is difficult to say goodbye. We hope the knowledge that she was loved well, and will always be remembered for her laughter, generosity, and beautiful smile will bring you comfort. Godspeed Chrissy Karen and Doug
