Obituary of Christine A Camp
Christine Ann (Dahlin) Camp, loving mother and wife, is finally free from the debilitating disease of ALS and is resting safely in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where love, peace, and joy forever endure.
She was born on August 2, 1969, to George R. and Connie (Lee) Dahlin. She married Jeffrey Alan Camp on August 2, 2003.
She graduated from Cassadaga High School in 1987 and attended Liberty University. She and her father, George, graduated from SUNY Fredonia on the same day. As part of a 1989 Liberty University trip to Eastern Europe (Hungary, Romania, and Russia), her travel group encountered some difficulties, spending a day and a night stuck on the train. However, the exemplary behavior of the group convinced the authorities to release them so the trip could continue.
Christine found great satisfaction working with the public in a variety of careers, including a cashier at Quality Markets, a math teacher at Falconer, Chautauqua, Westfield, and Jamestown Community College, and a receptionist at Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union. Colleagues remember her fondly as helpful, caring, and cheerful.
Christine loved the holidays, especially the preparations and shopping for Christmas. She excelled at holiday baking and was known for her chocolate mint brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and buckeyes.
Christine was a member of Fluvanna Community Church for over forty years. She and her father were baptized in Chautauqua Lake on the same day. She was diagnosed with ALS in May 2023. Her faith, strength, and determination helped her become an effective advocate for education and research for the disease. She was interviewed on Channel 12 Erie, and she spoke with groups at the Chautauqua Golf Course and Chautauqua Christian Academy about the accessibility needs of disabled persons. She appeared on video at a session of the U.S. Congress in a presentation by Bill Soffel, President/CEO at ERA Team VP Real Estate, and a member of the National Board of Trustees at the ALS Association.
She was very grateful for her 'Village' and her faithful 'Prayer Warriors' for their encouragement and loving support throughout her darkest difficulties, and for rejoicing with her during good times. All of their prayers, gifts, and snacks were so appreciated.
Christine is preceded in death by her father, George, sister-in-law Julie Warren, her aunt Mary Nash, and her grandparents: Raymond and Anna (Larsen) Dahlin, and Robert and Rose Erikson.
Christine is survived by her husband Jeffrey, her son Ryan Harris Camp, her mother Connie, her mother-in-law Barbara Camp, her brother Robert John (Julie) Dahlin, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Please send memorials to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209. Please note on the memo line that the gift is in memory of Christine Camp, or to Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Avenue, Jamestown, NY 14701.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30th, at 11 AM at the Fluvanna Community Church.
