Christine Rae "Christy" Detty, aged 45, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 10, 1979, Christy's life was marked by her vibrant spirit, her creative soul, and her deep faith.
Christy lived a life full of color and joy, expressed through her love of painting. Her artworks were a testament to her ability to see beauty in the everyday, a talent she shared generously with all who knew her. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her love for fishing, where she found peace and solace in the rhythm of the water. Christy's unique collection of Mason jars was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her appreciation for simplicity and tradition.
A woman of profound faith, Christy cultivated a close relationship with Jesus, which guided her through the latter part of her journey on Earth. Her faith was her compass, providing strength and comfort through life's challenges and joys.
Christy's legacy is cherished by her beloved son, Drew Speakman, and daughters, Jade (Tyler) Sias and Braeleigh Parks. Her joy was multiplied with the birth of her grandchildren, Christian and Grayson, who brought boundless happiness into her life. She is survived by her devoted parents, Dennis Kirk and Kathy Detty, who instilled in her the values of love and family that she held so dear.
Her memory will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Michelle Kirk and Suzie (Terrance) Eastwood. Christy's life was enriched by the laughter and love of her nieces, Kaitlynn (Clinton) Kemp, Kerstin Garland, Payton Ferguson, Kimoni Kirk, Iysis Collier, Victori Collier, and Nevaeh Eastwood, and her nephew, Stanley Ward Jr.
Christy was preceded in death by her brother, Scotty Kirk, who she held close to her heart.
Christy's spirit and love will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her unwavering positivity, even in the face of adversity, serves as an inspiration to us all. As we say goodbye to Christy, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our hearts and the world. Her light will never fade; it will continue to guide and warm us just as it did when she was here. Christy's presence in our lives was a gift-one that we will cherish and honor forever.
