Christine Ann Fletcher

Christine Ann Fletcher, age 59, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Baptist Health – Richmond.
"Sissy," as she was affectionately known, was born in Lincoln County on September 26, 1965, the daughter of the late James Merritt and the late Alberta Mooney. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Louise Merritt. She had a heart for missions in her hometown. She provided care for 12 disabled veterans and volunteered at a local clothing and food pantry. Her strong faith was the source of her witness to the love of Jesus with whomever she came in contact. She was a faithful member of Lancaster Road Church of God where she assisted in the nursery and with the youth. She also enjoyed playing the guitar and bongo drums. She loved to worship the Lord and it was always easy to know her voice when Sissy said, "Amen!!"
A bit later in life, Sissy found out through DNA testing that she was of American Indian descent. This opened the door to a new adventure for her. She enjoyed gathering with others, participating in tribal dances and was even given the name "Grandma Wolf."
Christine united in marriage with Ronald Fletcher who survives. They shared a special bond that will never be broken. She called Ronnie her special angel.
Though they had no children, Christine and Ronald had several godchildren whom they loved including Isaac Couch, Abigal Rone and the kids at her church. Also, she called Joseph Still her grandson and loved him with all her heart.
In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by her stepmother, Lousie Merritt, three aunts: Betty Alexander, Joyce Meadows and Iva Isaacs, her uncle: Wendell (& Rosie) Merritt and her "special sisters," Connie Still and Denise Land.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Lancaster Rd. Church of God, 1246 Lancaster Rd, Richmond.
The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the church with Rev. James Tyra officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Land, Joseph Still, David Land, David Payne, Zion Payne, Isaac Couch, Darrell Cain, Sabrina Daughtery, Tommie Still and Abigail Rone.
