Christine Louise Francis, 68, of Des Moines Iowa passed away at home on October 17, 2025.
Christine was born to Kathryn and John O'Hara on February 11, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in 1975 where she was a proud member of the synchronized swimming team. She earned an Associate's Degree from Des Moines Area Community College. Christine worked as a Dental Assistant and shortly after she worked for the IRS, Social Security, Veteran's Hospital and spent most of her time as an Office Manager at the Vet Center for 32 years. Christine found her passion in helping veterans.
Christine married her high school sweetheart and had two children, Kirsten Aguiniga (Bales), Jordan Bales. Christine married John Francis on May 17, 1986 where they made their home in Des Moines, blending their families. She loved going to Estes Park with her extended family where they spent many years enjoying nature. Christine loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren where she was a big supporter of their lives.
Christine is survived by her husband, John Francis; daughter, Kirsten Aguiniga; Step-children, Dawn Maze, Stefani Eggenberger, Scot (Brenda) Francis, Chris (Katy) Francis; grandchildren, Taylor Strand, Brody Bales, Aubree Bales, Mannix Bales, Jaxon Aguiniga, Easton Aguiniga, Emerson Aguiniga, Cassidy Perkins, Sierra Norris, Chase Francis, Michael Stroud II, Matthew Eggenberger, Auston Francis, Gavin Francis, Makayla Francis, Alex Francis, Jazelle Francis; great- grandchildren, Michael Stroud III, John Stroud, Addison Stroud; siblings, David (Kim) O'Hara, Danny (Marj) O'Hara, Mary (Dave) Hebert
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathryn "Karlene"; mother-in-law, Mildred Francis; son, Jordan Bales; step-son, Jon Francis; niece, Molly (Hebert) Shukla.
