In Loving Memory of Christine A. Hassel
April 21, 1961 – August 9, 2025
With heavy hearts and immeasurable sorrow, we share the passing of a vibrant and cherished soul who left us too soon at the age of 64 after a courageous and determined battle with appendiceal cancer. She fought with every ounce of strength, hope, and love. Never losing her will to live or her passion for those around her.
Born in Albuquerque NM, daughter of Hugh and Dorethy Wallace, mother of Rebecca and Thomas Hassel. Chris grew up in Illinois where her fierce competitiveness, infectious smile and deep love formed friendships that are still going strong today. A true self-starter, Chris lived life on her own terms. Embracing every moment with unmatched energy and authenticity. She had a giving heart and deep compassion for all living things, especially her beloved pets.
Chris was a well-known lover of live music, often found swaying to the rhythm and soaking in the melodies. With a soul as colorful as her wardrobe, she could turn heads wherever she went. A woman of class, elegance and an undeniable flair for fashion. She had a true gift for socializing that made others drawn to her.
To know Chris was to love her. She brought laughter and joy, and a bit of goofiness to any room she walked into. Her spirited energy will be deeply missed. Whether with a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a spontaneous joke, she had a way of making everyone feel like family. We will forever cherish her memory. Her presence was a gift. She truly lived life to the fullest with grace, humor, and a whole lot of heart.
