Christine Hanessian Kossayian, born Zabel, passed away peacefully at home in Milton on June 25, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 15, 1936, in Washington, D.C., Christine was the beloved daughter of Souren and Christine (Miadzinian) Hanessian. She attended George Washington University and married the love of her life, Sargis Kossayian, on September 10, 1955.
Christine was a devoted homemaker whose warmth, creativity, and spirit enriched the lives of all who knew her. A talented pianist, she had a lifelong love of music and cherished attending concerts and shows. She also enjoyed traveling extensively, exploring many countries and much of the United States alongside her husband.
Besides her parents, Christine was predeceased by her brothers, Souren and Robert Hanessian, and her sister, Virginia Povolny.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Sargis Kossayian; her son, Stephen Kossayian (Audrey) of Cedar Rapids, IA; her daughter, Carol Kossayian (David Santoni) of Milton, DE; and her cherished grandchildren: Jarret Tanner of Glenside, PA; Ethan Tanner of Hershey, PA; Robert Kossayian (Vicky) of San Jose, CA; Emma Kossley (Braxton) of Waterloo, IA; Timothy Kossayian of Waterloo, IA; and Amanda Bolig (Josh) of State College, PA. Christine also leaves behind four beloved great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
