Christine Fetsch Maher

Christine "Chris" Maher, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was 75 years old.
Chris is survived by her loving husband of 54 years and best friend, Pat Maher, with whom she shared a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and love. She will be forever cherished by her daughter Amy Rogers and son-in-law Chris Rogers, along with their children Lucy, Henry, Walter, and Beatrice, and by her son Todd Maher and daughter-in-law Jill Maher, and their daughters Georgia, Poppy, Serena, and Dakota. Chris is also survived by her dear brother Martin Fetsch and his wife Steph, and her sister Mimi Belle Isle and her husband Kevin.
Born on June 2, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, Chris was a graduate of Seton Keough High School and Villa Julie College. She went on to enjoy a respected career as an accountant. Known for her thoughtfulness, Chris had a rare gift for making others feel seen and loved-whether through a heartfelt note, a timely card, or a quiet act of kindness.
A calm and steady presence, Chris was the heart of her family. She found her greatest joy in supporting her children through every chapter of their lives and then carried that devotion forward as "Gaga" to her eight adoring grandchildren. Her creativity and warmth shone brightest during "Gaga Camp" - the treasured annual summer tradition she created to fill her grandchildren's lives with laughter, memories, and love.
Chris delighted in the simple joys of life - playing cards, hosting parties for friends, and gathering loved ones together for holidays. Her favorite days were spent at the family's home in Bethany Beach, surrounded by her full family and dearest friends.
She and Pat shared a love of travel, exploring new places and meeting new people, but she always held family traditions closest to her heart. Chris also gave generously of her time to others, especially through her volunteer work with Christ Child Society of Annapolis, reflecting her deep faith.
Those who were lucky enough to know Chris will remember her for her selflessness, her calm wisdom, and her unwavering love. Her legacy lives on in the family she so dearly cherished and the many lives she touched with her grace and generosity.
A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Annapolis on November 22nd at 9am. The celebration of her life will be held immediately following the mass at the Annapolis Yacht Club at 2 Compromise St.
