Christine E. Romig, 75, formerly of Denver, PA, and recent resident of Cedar Haven Nursing Center in Lebanon, PA, entered into eternity Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Christine was born in Offenbach, Germany, June 8th, 1949, to the late Robert L. and Elvira M. (Wiegand) Romig. As part of a military family, Christine’s early years were filled with travel and change, shaping her resilience and adaptability. She initially came to a saving knowledge of Christ as a young child, and in her later years she recommitted her life to Christ becoming a prayer warrior. She graduated from Hardaway High School Class of 1967 in Columbus, Georgia. Eventually she made Lancaster County her home in the mid-1980s.
Christine’s life was deeply centered around family, making family holiday gatherings and Sunday dinners especially memorable. Her devotion to family was unwavering. Her passion for caregiving extended beyond her family into her professional life. Christine dedicated many years to serving others in nursing homes, including Fairmount Homes in Ephrata, Pleasant View, the former Lancashire, and Manor Care. Her kindness and commitment touched the lives of many. Christine found peace and joy in both the beach and the mountains; she enjoyed Ocean City, MD, and the Shenandoah Mountains. She loved her cats, who brought her endless companionship and happiness. She leaves a legacy of kindness and family devotion.
Christine is survived by two sons, David (Julia) Reintjes of Denver and Michael (Ashlee) Reintjes of Flower Mound, TX; five grandchildren, Steven Reintjes, Matthew Reintjes, Mikayla Reintjes, Alyssa Reintjes, and Mark Gockley; a great grandchild, Wade Gockley; a sister, Patti Taylor; and brother, Rev. Robert L.(& Gale) Romig.
