Chris graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1996 and spent the majority of his career as a trusted and versatile engineer at BAE Systems. Chris made a tremendous impact across a variety of safety-critical development programs in the flight control, engine control and cabin system domains. During his 20+ years at BAE Systems Chris could always be counted on to solve complex problems with a pragmatic yet creative approach. Chris was awarded 3 patents and left a lasting impact on the colleagues he worked with.
Chris was a passionate world traveler. Chris and his immediate family traveled to France, The Bahamas, Costa Rica, and multiple other countries in Central America. Chris enjoyed snorkeling in coral reefs throughout the Caribbean and Central America. Even during his most recent hospital stay, Chris envisioned the next trip he would take with his family.
Chris was also an avid golfer. He participated in a golf league for many years with his friends from work. He enjoyed a spirited competition and a good laugh at a bad shot. He also shared his love of golf with his children and parents.
Chris was a fierce fighter to the very end. His unwavering resilience in the face of incredible odds defied logic. At the time of his diagnosis, only five percent of people diagnosed with his particular variant of lung cancer were expected to live five years past their diagnosis. Chris lived for eleven. Time after time, when it looked like Chris was down and out, he made it through. However, by the time of his death, years of cancer left Chris with one completely decayed lung and another that was limping along. After eleven long years of struggle, Chris's body was no longer able to fight.
