Christopher "Chris" Herrera Camacho, 42 of Abilene, Texas passed away unexpectedly on
Tuesday, January 08, 2024, at his home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18,
2024, from 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm at North's Funeral Home Chapel, 242 Orange St. Funeral service will
be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church, 2474 Westwood
Drive with Pastor Don Greenway officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park
Cemetery "Garden of Hope", 5750 Hwy 277 South, under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Chris will be laid to rest beside his father Tony "Grandpa Jack" Camacho and brother Jason "Jay" Camacho.
Chris was born on Sunday, January 25, 1981, in Abilene, Texas to Tony Camacho and Janie
Herrera Camacho-Paz. Chris as he was known to all his family and friends was a brother, uncle,
nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. Chris was a force to be reckoned with, he was a person
who would speak his mind and told you how it was whether you liked it or not he was going to
let you know. There was a side to Chris that was loving and caring and on occasions you would
see that wonderful person that God created.
Chris lived all his life in Abilene and was a Cooper Cougar Graduate, as a young adult he began
working with his Uncle Marty "Herrera Concrete Construction". There he acquired the knowledge
that made him a good and hard worker, though it came with working long hard hours in the rain or cold he gave it the best he knew how.
Later, Chris opened Abilene Fight Club Team Camacho "Tae Kwon Do" and here he taught
many young students the art of Tae Kwon Do. Chris was first introduced to Tae Kwon Do and
Karate by Master Hong, who took him under his wing and taught him all he knew and was
an instructor for Master Hong. Chris taught his daughter Laura the art of Karate and Tae Kwon
Do, at an early age and both went on to compete in tournaments, which was what he enjoyed
doing. He held a black belt and I know he was proud of what he had accomplished.
At the time of his passing, he was working for his Uncle Marty. Chris could always be found or
seen riding his bike never was he in one place for long.
He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him and knew him, as his mother I will cherish
the memories and short talks that we shared. Chris, you were the first one that made me a mom
from the moment I held you till the time that I hold now you will forever take my heart. I love you
and will miss you until we are reunited again.
Chris is preceded in death by his father Tony "Grandpa Jack" Camacho, brother Jason "Jay" Camacho, grandparents Louis Gonzales (Pauline) and Tino Camacho, uncle Jerry Lopez and aunt Elizabeth Camacho.
Those left to cherish his memories include his mother Janie Camacho-Paz (Ralph) of
Abilene; daughter Laura Camacho of Corpus Christi, 2 sisters Samantha Pardo (Tim) and Kimberly Camacho both of Abilene, Uncles and Aunts, Marty Herrera (Debra), Ernest Herrera III both of Abilene, Arthur Herrera (Cindy) of Weatherford, Joe Herrera (Sandra) of North Richland Hills, Becky Lopez of Azle, grandmother Ruby Camacho and Uncle Robert Camacho (Debra) of
Houston, nieces and nephews, Timothy, Jacob and Faith Pardo and Siyah Corbit, Kameron,
Aiden and Brayden Camacho all of Abilene and a host of cousins and extended family and friends.
Pallbearers, Marty Herrera, Arthur Herrera, Joe Herrera, Ernest Herrera III, Ralph Paz and Lee
Curiel and Honorary Pallbearers, Timothy and Jacob Pardo.

Chris was one of the first friends I made when I came to Abilene in 2018. I was going through a real hard time the next year after my then bf had hurt me badly.. he knew i didn't feel safe one night and made sure he found somewhere for me to sleep and sat watch over me the entire night. He always seemed to pop up on his bike at the perfect moments.. like the night around 2am when he rode me on his handlebars from 8th/grape to 13th/orange so i wasn't walking alone that late. I'm so sad to hear about his passing.
