Christopher Frederick Colombo, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Chris was born on August 5, 1941, to his late parents, Nick and Faith Colombo, in Galveston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Darlene Colombo. He is survived by his son, Michael and wife, Melony Colombo, daughter, Melanie and wife, Lisa Rios, grandchildren, Jonathan and wife, Gabby Colombo, Justin and wife, Gracey Colombo, Madison Whitney, great grandchildren, Kenzie, Kenna, Kaden, Karson, Cooper, great-great granddaughter, Abagail, his brother, Russ and wife Mary Colombo and from his first marriage, son Kennedy and wife, Claire Colombo, daughter, Karen and husband, Victor Stowe, daughter, Keri Dailey, son, Kristopher and wife, Teresa Colombo, grandchildren, Gabe, Greta, Kayla, Austin, and Alex.
After graduating from Ball High School, Chris pursued higher education at the University of Texas, Austin. He studied geology and obtained an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement there.
Chris has always been known for his innate talent for repairing electronic devices. What originally started as a personal hobby soon blossomed into a thriving business that spanned over two decades. Chris possessed a unique ability to troubleshoot and fix a wide range of electronics, from televisions to computers and various other equipment.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Chris has always been deeply committed to serving and supporting his community. His drive to make a positive impact led him to pursue a career in law enforcement. He served as a constable for Galveston County and worked as a dedicated police officer for the La Marque PD. Chris's unwavering dedication to protecting and aiding others has truly distinguished him in his community.
Chris's legacy lives on through his deep love for music, as evidenced by his impressive record collection and his unwavering devotion to the blues. His passion for gardening was evident in the meticulous care he dedicated to cultivating his vegetables. He took great joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with his cherished friends, leaving a lasting impact through his generosity and skills.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at The James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM and the service will start at 12:00 PM.
The family appreciates all the love and support shown during this time of sorrow. Chris' legacy of courage and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. 'Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.' – John 15:13
