Christopher W. Denny

Christopher W. Denny, 65, of Minoa and formerly of Phoenix, NY, died Friday November 7, 2025. Born on September 8, 1960 in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Lloyd "Jack" and Carol Denny.
Graduated from John C. Bridlebough High School in Phoenix, NY where he held the school record for the 110 meter High Hurdles from 1978-1997 with a time of 15.8 seconds.
From 1980 until 2008, Christopher was a journeyman plumber and member of Plumbers and Steamfitter Union Local 81, and then he transitioned to Facilities Management in Onondaga County from 2008 to 2022, when he retired. He was licensed in 15 different areas of plumbing, medical gas, sprinkler piping & numerous other valve, chemical & welding certifications.
Outside of his work, Christopher lived for his dogs, they were the bright spot in each and every day for him. He loved competing in Agility with his poodles and managed to qualify for AKC & CPE National Agility competition 6 times with 2 different poodles where he ended up twice in the top 25% in the country. He also placed 3rd in the NorthEast Agility championships in 2022. Most recently he acquired his dream dog- a saluki - where he found a new "niche" in putting a conformation title on him & 7 other performance titles.
He thoroughly enjoyed raising all his poodle puppies and cherished the friendships he made through so many puppy sales.
He got the most satisfaction from being available to help anyone when they were in need- always the 1st to volunteer to fix something, or teach someone some plumbing, RV or other repair work. Additional hobbies include traveling the US in their RV, dog grooming, gardening and always keeping the house decorated for each holiday.
Surviving are his wife & constant companion of 23 years, Laurie Danboise-Denny; sister, Amy; brother, Todd; cousins, Brett (Lisa) Fingland, Brooke Fingland, Nikki (Dave) Weaver; aunt and uncle, Donna and Paul Fingland; and 4 second cousins, Bryce, Carson, Lillianna & Wesley.
In keeping with Christopher's wishes, there will be no services.
