WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness and extraordinarily heavy hearts that the family of Christopher Michael Echevarria, age 53 of Waterbury, shares the news of his passing on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital, surrounded by the love of his children and family.
Christopher was born on March 8, 1972, in Waterbury, the son of the late Sharon Lush and Ruben Ocasio. Chris was extremely proud of his Hispanic heritage and it became a significant part of who he was. He cherished his roots and loved traveling to Puerto Rico to connect with family and immerse himself in the vibrant culture that shaped him. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, from his intense devotion to the New York Yankees to his fascination with baseball and show cars. Whether he was working on fixing up cars or sharing stories of his favorite ballgames, Chris had an infectious enthusiasm that drew people in. Christopher’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will forever remain a beacon of joy and resilience. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Left to cherish and honor Christopher’s memory are his siblings: Thomas Ocasio, Ann Marie Ocasio, and Ruben Ocasio, all of Waterbury; the mother of his 3 children, Rosa Rosado of Waterbury, and his beloved children: Christopher Echevarria Jr. of Waterbury, Alexander Echevarria and his wife, Jessica, of Bristol, and Stephanie Echevarria of Bristol. He is also remembered by his four grandchildren, whom he loved and treasured. Christopher is predeceased by his parents, Sharon Lush and Ruben Ocasio.
