Christopher Andrew Franey

Christopher Andrew Franey, a cherished family man, passed away on July 31, 2025. Born on July 11, 1989, in Adana, Turkey, Chris's life was a testament to his selfless and loving nature, qualities that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Chris is survived by his adoring wife of nine years, Ashlie Lawson Franey, and their three beautiful daughters, Annabelle, Layla, and Felicity. His legacy of kindness and compassion lives on through them. He also leaves behind his father, Timothy Franey (Sondra); his mother, Deirdre Russo (Tony); his brothers, Daniel Franey (Clara) and Nathan Franey (Lindsey) and their children Tate and Livvy.

A veteran, Chris served his country with honor and distinction as a Ground Support Technician in the Marines. His unwavering commitment to service continued in his role at the Garland Police Department, where he was respected by his colleagues for his integrity, sense of humor, & professionalism. A decorated officer, he earned several Life Saving Bars & Certificates of Merit. He gave back to the police department by become a Field Training Officer & helped train countless recruits & new officers to ensure their own successes as officers.

Those who knew Chris will remember him as a man who always had a great smile ready to brighten anyone's day. He was renowned for his love of terrible dad jokes, a sense of humor that brought laughter and lightness to even the most mundane moments. Chris's passion for musicals, especially 'Hamilton' and 'The Greatest Showman,' was well-known, and he often shared this love with his girls, taking pride in their shared enjoyment of the arts.

Above all, Chris was a devoted husband and father. His family was his world, and he took every opportunity to create lasting memories with them.
