Christopher Armand Goode

Christopher Armand Goode passed away peacefully at the Raclin House (Center for Hospice Care) on September 16, 2025, after a brief illness. Chris was 67 years old. He was the last of the original residents residing at the Mosaic sponsored group home on Croydon Court in South Bend. He is survived by one sister Vicki. Chris was preceded in death by his parents William and Geraldine (Strickland) Goode.

Chris was a happy man; he loved rock and roll and would spend many hours contentedly listening to his favorite radio stations.

During Chris' life he has had several individuals who served as his guardian including the late Francis Scott (Scotty) who faithfully visited Chris and took him for frequent walks when Chris attended Logan Day Services. After Scotty passed a former staff person, Glenn Manka served as guardian until he relocated to Illinois and Marie Reimers served as Chris' guardian until she was no longer able to serve as she wanted. Logan Protective Services took over from Marie and served him until his passing.

Chris may have been physically bound to a wheelchair, but his spirit was so much larger. He enjoyed his life and his home. He was an incredibly strong and resilient man. He weathered the storms in his life with grace and determination. Chris' life was so much better because of the dedicated people in his life especially the staff that took care of him at his home, and later the wonderful medical staff at the Center for Hospice Care. Rest in Peace Chris, we will miss you.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 9-10 a.m. A service will follow starting promptly at 10 a.m. all being held at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545. A burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, IN, where Chris will be laid to rest next to his parents.
