Christopher Grande Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels - Belmont on Apr. 30, 2024.
Christopher Anthony Grande, 51, of Belmont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25th at Mt. Auburn Hospital.
Born to Anthony and Joanne Grande (Fazio) on Thursday April 5th, 1973 in Newton, MA.
Compassionate, caring and generous to a fault, Chris genuinely cared for people, never missing an opportunity to be of service to his family, clients and those within his community; he often gave not from abundance but his substance serving with the Catholic Youth organizations, Peer Ministry and as Chairman of the Medford Council on Aging. A devoted and loving father, husband and son, he consistently placed the needs and wants of his children before those of his own.
In his spare time, you could find him gardening, reading or hiking, but what brought him most joy was the time he spent with his wife Sophia and their children, while taking great pride in making and maintaining his friendships near and far.
In high school, he was smart, handsome, funny, and loved spending time with his friends when he wasn't earning money washing and loading the canteen trucks at the local commissary. He loved local sports teams, especially the Bruins, and his love for hockey led him to organize floor hockey teams in club leagues.
As a proud graduate of Tufts University Class of '95 with a double concentration in Economics & History, and of Boston University Class of 2006, graduating with High Honors with an MSIM, Investment Management, Chris later became a Certified Financial Planner and a Retirement Management Analyst. While in college, he was an integral part of Tufts' Hillside House community. Chris was there daily, involved in all events, and was ALWAYS making people laugh with his quick wit and playful manner. Countless hours were spent at the Hillside House playing Sega Hockey. His quick wit and lack of filter would've gotten him in trouble at times had it not been for his warm smile, wonderful spirit, and enormous heart that drew people to him and made him extremely difficult to be mad at. He was a very loyal friend, and well loved. A strategic thinker by nature, with a unique ability to make the incredibly complex appear simple, he consistently strived for success becoming the founder of his company, Walnut Hill Advisors, LLC.
Now that Spring is here, we will miss you creating life in the garden and all the little things you did daily to impact the lives of those you loved most, from watching Christian play soccer and wrestling to preparing meals with Kimi, watching her during gymnastics and expressing herself through art.
Although we are hurting deeply, we will never forget the warmth of your smile and the way you loved us all.
Chris leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Sophia Grande (Mayeda) and their children Christian and Kimiko of Belmont, MA. His parents, Anthony of Jacksonville, FL and his wife Cheryl, and Joanne Grande of Medford, MA, his siblings Lisa of Medford, MA and Tom and his wife Cindy of Boxford, MA, his sister in-law Susan of Honolulu, HI, other relatives and dear friends.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love and friendship Chris shared during visiting hours on Thursday, May 2nd from 10 AM until 12 PM in The Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapel, located 325 Trapelo Rd. Belmont, MA. A Celebration of Chris's life will begin at 12 PM. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
Interment will be held at Highland Meadow Cemetery located, 700 Concord Ave. Belmont, MA. with a gathering to follow at Mighty Squirrel Brewery located, 411 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA.

Bob and I am so sorry to hear about Chris' sudden passing. We are your neighbors from across the street, in the house next to the park, and we appreciated his friendliness and neighborliness, his interest in what went on in the town and our neighborhood, and his general good-naturedness.

We wish you much strength and comfort during this difficult time. Sincerely, Patricia and Bob Berens

Chris was pure of heart, as honest as they come, and knew what life was all about- making memories, fostering relationships, and smiling every moment you can. He´s an example of how we all should live our lives, and will never be forgotten.

With Deepest Sympathy,

Evan K Pozios

My condolences and wishes of strength to his family during this difficult time. I have fond memories of Chris; since I met him at a winery in Napa Valley and been my financial advisor and friend for the last 5-6 years. I had a great conversation with him when visited his office just before his birthday. I´m still processing and grieving Chris´s departure. What a great professional and great person. It´d be difficult to continue what we were working together with anyone else.
I will always remember you , hoping one day we can meet again .
