Christopher David Guida of Pleasantville New York passed away suddenly on Monday January 1st 2018. He was 25 years old. Christopher was born in Westchester Medical to Debra Guida. He moved from Portchester to Pelham where he lived for 2 years with his mother and grandmother before moving to Pleasantville in 2000. He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 2011 and attended Westchester Community College where he studied Culinary and later graduated with a degree in business. Christopher was very musical. While in elementary school he learned to play piano, attending many recitals. He learned to play the alto saxophone and was a member of the Pleasantville Middle and High School bands and a yearly NSMMA participant. Christopher loved all forms of music, including jazz, 70s hard rock and contemporary music. He was a boy scout and an excellent swimmer. He worked as a lifeguard many summers during and after High School at local pools. Christopher loved his cat Tux(edo), who he tenderly spoke of and cared for. He loved to cook for his family and friends, enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Christopher was articulate, charismatic and self-aware. He easily made friends and was able to strike up a conversation with anyone at any time and comfortable with people of all ages. He will be remembered as a friendly, down to earth, unassuming and very funny young man. Gifted with a great sense of humor he knew how to make people laugh. His mother always said that Christopher was the one person who could make her laugh so hard her sides hurt. Christopher will be remembered as a man who loved his family and friends dearly and was always there for his mom. His family and friends were everything to him. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed. August 20, 2020 Debra, It is with a heavy heart that I learn about Christopher's passing. Sadly, it is two and a half years after his death that I became aware of it. I still have the thank you card that he wrote to me at the end of the school year for being his Spanish teacher - with a lovely note from you, too. It is a card you made yourself with a picture of Christopher smiling on the front with balloons in the background. I've kept that card on my shelf in my office all these years. It is not the fact that he thanked me for helping him throughout the year that made me hold on to it, but rather the fact that he was such a kind, sweet soul and I wanted to remember the impact that he made on me to become a better teacher. I just moved and packed the card to bring with me to my new home. Once again, it sits on the shelf in my office.
I don't know if this message will get to, but I hope that somehow it does. Please know that you and Christopher are in my thoughts.

We have know Christopher from the day he was born. He and his mom, Debi, lived in the apartment next to ours for four years. We were able to spend a lot of time with a very interesting and imaginative little boy. Christopher was an early talker, so he was able to express his thoughts, ideas, and impressions with everyone. When he moved with his mother to Pelham and then to Pleasantville, we continued to be involved with his birthday parties, piano recitals, confirmation, jazz band concerts, holidays, and graduations.

It has taken us this long to write here in this Guestbook about Christopher, because we continue to mourn and cry over the realization that he has left all of us. We extend our sympathy to his mother, Debi, and thank her for bringing her beloved son in our lives also.

I am so sorry for your loss. Chris was such a nice friend to me. I remember first grade with him at Hutchinson Elementary School, it was years ago but we got in contact again after high school. He remained that sweet boy and I'll always remember him like that! Rest In Peace, Christopher.

I am so very sorry for the Guida Family's loss. I met Christopher and his Mom at an HP event at the Milford Mill Swimming quary when his Aunt Corrie introduced me to her adorable toddler nephew. I am just thinking about that lovely little boy, his Mom, Corrie and Fred at this time. Kindest Regards, Kathy Freund

Dear Debi, I am in complete shock reading that Chris has passed. My deepest condolences to you. As you know, I had the opportunity of meeting up with Chris in the last few months after many years. We chatted a couple of times and I recently gave him a couple of photos of you and him. That was just a couple of weeks ago. I will alway's remember Chris as the adorable young boy he was and the kind man he became. I am so grateful I had these recent moments. My heart goes out to you.

Chris was an amazing friend. When I heard about his passing I broke down because we had talked a few weeks earlier about school and life and how we couldn't wait to see where the future took us. I have lost many friends in my life but none left me as saddened then Chris. We got very close about 2 years ago and had a falling out but we still loved and cared for one another.

I had the pleasure of meeting Chris on several occasions as he was a friend of my daughter Mecca. I am so so sorry to hear of Chris's passing.
