Lida DeSantis Obituary

Lida was a graduate of Pleasantville High School and proudly dedicated many years of her life to the Somers Central School District, serving as assistant secretary to the principal until her retirement in 1999.
Outside of work, Lida's life was filled with creativity, generosity, and a strong love for her family. She found joy in crafting of all kinds, especially ceramics. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and love, where her cooking brought smiles to her family and friends. She was involved in Relay for Life and proudly gave her time and energy to causes close to her heart. She also treasured her annual trips to Ocean City, Maryland and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
In 1961, Lida married Nicola "Nick" DeSantis at St. Joseph's Church in Croton Falls, NY. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to their family. Their marriage lasted over 50 years, until Nick's passing in 2013.
Lida's greatest pride was her family. She leaves behind her daughters Dale (Vincent) San Marco, Adriana (George) DeSantis-Deichler, Carol (Scott) McMahon, and Lida (Brian) Tetor; her sister, Carol Kent of Tennessee; ten beloved grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her companion, Ernest Williams. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Hendrie. Each of them will carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
