Christopher Charles Milhous Hollings

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Charles Milhous Hollings of Columbia, SC, February 21, 2026. A private family graveside service was held Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. His family invites friends to the Memorial/Celebration of Life to be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia, SC, on March 10 at 2:00 PM.

Born in Columbia, SC, May 30, 1981, to Michael Milhous Hollings and Deborah Anne Wilson Hollings. He was the grandson of Senator Ernest Frederick Hollings and Patricia Salley Hollings of Charleston, SC and Dr. and Mrs. George Earl Wilson Jr. of McLean, VA.

At Heathwood Hall, Chris excelled in academics. He spent his free time outdoors playing tennis, biking on various adventures, hunting in Boykin, and enjoying the beach. He loved the strategy of chess and politics and he welcomed the challenge of matching wits in both. Chris always shared with his friends his contagious smile, and he never left them without encouraging words.

Music became Chris' passion. He was a talented guitar player who also loved to dabble on the drums. Whether playing his instruments, attending a live concert, or sharing his wealth of musical knowledge, Chris brought his love of music to every occasion.

Chris graduated summa cum laude from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He exemplified empathy and compassion throughout his academic and professional life.

Chris shared his grandfather's desire to see politics elevated beyond partisanship. His approach to politics mirrored his life by pursuing a better life for people in need. He worked on several successful campaigns, including those of Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer.

In 2023, after returning home to help his father with his kidney search, Chris founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding living kidney donors for patients in dire need. He aptly named the organization "Find My Living Donor." His nonprofit work increased awareness and found "heroes" for at-risk kidney patients by coaching them on navigating social media to find lifesaving donors.

In every chapter of his life, as a student, a musician, a strategist, an advocate, and a friend, Chris sought to lift others higher. His empathy was not simply something he studied; it was something he lived. Though we mourn the loss of his bright spirit, we hold fast to the countless lives he touched, the music he shared, the causes he championed, and the hope he created for those in need. May we honor Chris by extending the same compassion, encouragement, and determination that defined him, carrying forward his belief that even in life's hardest battles, kindness can change the world.

Chris is survived by his loving parents and grandmother Monique Yvette Giselle Wilson; Helen Hayne Reardon (aunt), Ernest Frederick Hollings, III (uncle); Gerard Cipre (great uncle), Christiane Cipre (great aunt), Yvette Cipre (great aunt), and many cousins who he enjoyed throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to MUSC Mid-Carolinas Transplant Center (Lancaster), SC Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
