Christopher Lynn Hughes
April 6, 1975 – August 16, 2025
Christopher Lynn Hughes, age 50, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Chris was born April 6, 1975, in Wichita, Kansas, to Peggy Combs and Danny Hughes. From a young age, he faced life's challenges with determination and grit. He graduated from the Arkansas School for the Blind in Little Rock and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Henderson State University. With a passion for learning and advocacy, Chris continued his education at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where he earned his law degree.
He practiced law for a period of time in Wichita before his illness and moving to Arkansas. Those who knew Chris will remember his quick wit, his love of good conversation, and his ability to find humor even in difficult moments. He loved his family deeply, and his strength, courage, and faith throughout his illness inspired all who walked alongside him.
Chris is survived by his mother, Peggy Combs and her husband James Mann; his father, Danny Hughes and his wife Cecilia; his grandmother, Ann Combs; his sister, Jennifer Sampley; his aunt, Brenda Scriven; his uncle, Chuck Combs and his wife Ann and their family; his niece, Alexis Ansbro and her husband Nathan and their son Forrest; and his nephew, Austin Sampley and his wife Cierra and their son Stone. He is also remembered by numerous paternal uncles, aunts, and cousins in Kansas, as well as many great-aunts, uncles, and extended family members on his maternal side.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Tiffany Slusser; his maternal grandfather, C.V. Combs; and his paternal grandparents, Chester and Winifred Hughes.
In keeping with Chris's wishes, no formal services are planned. His ashes will be buried in Alma Cemetery in Alma Arkansas next to his sister.
Those wishing to honor his memory may do so with a donation to Hope Cancer Resources at HopeCancerResources.org for their continued ability to serve those who fight the battle with cancer.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Chris is now free from pain, reunited with loved ones gone before him, and able to see clearly now walking whole and strong in his heavenly home.

Chris was a very sweet and sensitive man. He had to endure many hardships, but I think having to participate in Falk Family Game Night was the hardest. He never complained. He always was friendly and loved being around people who loved to talk! I hope he finds peace. He will be missed.

I did not see this obituary until today. Chris was a good man. We worked in the same law office for 7 years, and continued to do special cases together for several years after that. One of his exceptional qualities was his ability to do legal research. I missed Chris before his death, but hope he has found the peace he deserves. RIP Chris!!
