Christopher Kodis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McInerney Central Chapel on Dec. 26, 2024.
Christopher Charles Kodis, age 67. Lifelong resident of the Bridgeport neighborhood. Beloved husband of Darlene (nee Klebba) for nearly 47 years; devoted father of David (Amy) Kodis and Daniel Kodis; proud grandpa of David Joseph "DJ" Kodis; cherished son of the late Charles and Margie (nee Gilles) Kodis; loving brother of Michael Kodis and Cathy (Jim) Mozerka; dearest nephew of Virginia Macis, John (Kathy) Gilles, and the late Stash Kodis; fond uncle of Jessica (Mike) McClure and Brittany (Kurt) Grimm; adored great uncle of Matthew, Jackson and Finley; also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Chris was an outdoors guy. He was passionate about fishing. His fishing holes in Wisconsin were Chetek, Lake Como, and Wind Lake. In Illinois included the Chain of Lakes and Lake Michigan. In Michigan it was St. Joseph River. In Missouri it was the Lake of the Ozarks. In Ohio it was Lake Erie, and can't forget the Florida Keys.
He loved to travel. His destinations were Sloppy Joe's in Key West, Harry's Beach Bar in St. Pete Beach and Fremont Street in Las Vegas. He also checked off Hawaii on his bucket list.
Cruising was his favorite vacation. He went on 13 Carnival Cruises. He visited South and Central America, Mexico, and many Caribbean Islands. Aruba was his favorite island.
Chris was a founding member of the Poormen's S.A.C. He was a supporter of the VFW #5092 and AL #231 Posts. He worked in Hospitality all his life.
Chris and Darlene were high school sweethearts and best friends since 1974. He was always involved in both of his son's lives from fishing, vacations, and sporting events. He was blessed with his grandson in 2022. He called him his "Little Big Guy."
As per Chris' request, there will be no services. He would like you to have a drink and remember all the good times you had together.
We know Chris has a cocktail in his hand while sitting on the beach with Jimmy Buffet next to him singing Margaritaville.
