Christopher (Chris) Brandon Lucero passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

 Born on October 3, 1986, in Las Vegas, NM, to Chris and Prescilla Lucero, Christopher was raised in Anton Chico, NM, and attended Santa Rosa High School. After high school, he briefly attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

 Christopher loved getting lost in music and would often take his children cruising just to listen, with everyone singing along at the top of their lungs. He brought the party wherever he went.

Chris is preceded in death by the love of his life and mother of two of his children, Maria F. Sandoval, and his paternal grandparents, Bonifacio and Louisa Lucero.

 He leaves behind three children: Jayla Chriss, Aztlan Siete, and Michael Brandon; his parents, Chris and Prescilla Lucero; his maternal grandparents, Antonio and Macky Velasquez; his siblings, Crystal (Napoleon) Sanchez and Kevin (Shanika) Lucero; and his nieces and nephews, Daniel James (Iliana) Ledoux, Joe (Denise) Lucero, Justin (Isabelle) Lucero, Ava Lucero, and Harper Lucero, as well as his great-nephew, Sebastian Ledoux. He also leaves behind his special friend and caregiver, Crystal Sandoval, and Jennifer Velasquez, the mother of Michael Brandon, and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

Visitation for Christopher will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 1-6PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10AM, on Friday, August 30, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM with Father Timothy Meurer officiating.

Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery with Andy Cordova, Carlos Baca, Dennis Maestas II, Greg Encinias, Joe Lucero, Justin Lucero, Ray Tapia, Rick Flores, and Stoney Jaramillo serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his uncle’s Dennis Maestas and Antonio (Boy) Velasquez.

Services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, NM 88435. 575-472-3369.
