Christopher Eugene Matchem

Christopher Eugene "Big Buff" Matchem of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away from this life on July 5, 2023. Christopher was born on December 15, 1969. He attended North Hopkins High School in Madisonville, Kentucky. After High School, he attended Sullivan Culinary School in Louisville, Kentucky.
His favorite saying was "everyone hates Chris but loves Big Buff". Buff was very outgoing, and he never met a stranger. He was known for his Big Buff special; he loved to cook. He loved his position of sous chef at Paducah Country Club. He had a special gift for making people laugh and he could brighten up any room. Our hearts are sad today because we will miss him so much, but our hearts are delighted because we know he is with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father: Ernest Eugene Mitchell; grandparents: Bernice Dulin Matchem and Edward Matchem; and niece: Chelsea Danelle Helton.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son: Jakob Goodwin; daughters: Taia Matchem, Kaydence Matchem, and Kristian Matchem; bonus children: Stormi Hayhurst, Danielle Brown, Nevaeh Jones, and Talea Jones; grandchild: Novah Berry; bonus grandchildren: Kamiyah Gant, and Malik Gant; his mother: Twonia (William) Hamilton; siblings: Tiffany Gray, Andrea (Dameron) Greene, Ernest (Keia) Mitchell; aunts: Tressa (Charles) Stunson, Phyllis Merriweather, and Dell Woodridge.
