Christopher Roberts Pruitt

Christopher Roberts Pruitt, 71, husband of Gloria Shirley Pruitt, of Cross Hill died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Greenwood Regional Rehab Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Patrick H. Pruitt Sr and Mildred Roberts Pruitt. He was an Army Veteran and an active member of Coronaca Baptist Church, serving as deacon and chairman of the personnel committee. He spent his early professional years training and showing Tennessee walking horses across the US. Starting in 1982 he worked as an agent for South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance in Anderson SC, later he became an agency manager in Laurens and Abbeville. After 36 years of forging relationships and some of his most cherish friendships, he retired in 2018.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: Sons, Justin Lee Pruitt of Cross Hill, Patrick Byars Pruitt (Ashley) of Belton; Daughter, Lessie Pruitt O'Dell (Patton) of Belton; Grandchildren, Laighson Pruitt Cunningham (Davis), Landon Pruitt, Maylin Pruitt, Allie Grace Pruitt, Rhett O'Dell, Tripp O'Dell; Brothers, Patrick H. Pruitt Jr (Karen) of Cross Hill, Josh C. Pruitt (Carol) of Greenville, Zeb Pruitt (Adela) of Cross Hill.
Services will be held 3:00pm Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Belton First Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Polatty and Dr. Mitch Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday prior to service from 1:00 to 2:45pm.
In leu of flowers memorials can be made to Meals on Wheels or Coronaca Baptist Church.
The family will be at the daughter's home in Belton.
Chris was a Clemson Tiger through and through, he was a God-fearing family man above all else. He loved his wife and 3 children, lived for his 6 grandchildren, and will be forever loved and deeply missed by all.
