Skrenes, Christopher Ryan of Waukesha, WI, 39 years old -
Chris was called home unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on February 4, 2026. Chris is survived by his precious sons, Kaleb and Ryker Skrenes; his loving mom, Carri Holat; his grandpa, Dale Holat; his step-dad, Larry Oldenburg; his sisters, Cassini J. Skrenes and Katie Oldenburg; as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Nora Oldenburg. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him. We will all miss him dearly. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Francis Skrenes.
Chris had a deep faith in his Higher Power and was actively involved in 12 step programs. He had the honor of sharing his experience, strength and hope with other men in the programs and spoke at conferences and meetings around Southeastern Wisconsin. He helped a lot of people with his commitment to sharing the message and recovering out loud.
Chris loved hanging out with his boys playing video games, board games, watching movies and bowling. He was so proud of Kaleb and Ryker and felt so much joy when he could watch them play basketball and baseball. He enjoyed the outdoors; especially camping, boating, fishing, snowboarding and playing frisbee golf. Chris was also a big fan of the Packers, the Bucks and the Milwaukee Brewers and loved taking his boys to the games.
Chris worked as a Shipping Technician with Tanis Brush, a manufacturer of laboratory and scientific brushes. He had a great releationship with his co-workers and was praised by his superiors for his strong work ethic, dedication, reliability and for the positive presence he brought to the work place. He recently had a stellar review and he was excited to be building his career with Tanis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 1:00 to 5:00 at the Lake Area Club in Oconomowoc, WI. The address is N60W35878 Lake Dr, Oconomowoc WI.
