Christopher Starr Obituary
Christopher Bernard Starr, Sr., age 41 of Uniontown passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
Chris was an unstoppable force with a larger-than-life personality. His witty sense of humor is unmatched. Those close to him knew he would do anything for anyone. Nobody could deny he was the hardest worker in any room.
Chris was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. Chris lived for his family and is truly irreplaceable. He found joy in spending time with his wife and boys. He loved being outdoors and camping with family and friends. He was a diehard football fan and believed in "Columbus on Saturdays and Pittsburgh on Sundays." He was at peace when sitting around a fire and listening to music. He enjoyed traveling with his family with the most memorable trips to the beach and riding coasters with his boys at Disneyworld. Chris dedicated nearly twenty years of his life to ODOT. He loved what he did and made many lifelong friends while doing it.
He is gone far too soon and made too much of an impact on those around him to put into a few paragraphs. We are all better people for having him in our lives. For those taking the time to read this, please, pour a glass of bourbon and hold it high in honor of Chris.
Chris is survived by his loving family that includes his wife, Rachel; three young boys, CJ, Nicholas, and Jonathan; father, Bernie; and sister, Holly (Michael) Hogston. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy.
Calling hours for Chris will be Saturday, June 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith-Kramer St NE, Hartville, OH 44632. A service celebrating his life will follow immediately at 3:00pm.
Chris was a very generous person, and to keep with what he would have wanted, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please pick your favorite charity and make a meaningful contribution.

I sat next to Chris in the office before I retired in 2020. I don´t remember when I met him but I knew he was the future we wanted at ODOT. As time went on, everyone agreed that we all wanted him as part of the construction staff. By the time I retired I felt of him as one of my own. The way he handled the challenges with his parents over the last few years is a testament to the type of person he was. I will always remember his laugh and pray that his family can as well.

I met Chris while working at the ODOT D4 Test Lab. At the time Chris was working in the field as a project inspector and would bring test samples into the facility. Chris was somewhat quiet, but always had a smile on his face and enjoyed talking about his family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to his entire family. He was an asset to ODOT and will be greatly missed by his fellow employees.
