Christopher M. Strong, 36, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Unadilla Forks, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 11, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born on May 10, 1987 in Utica, a son of Gary Strong and Laurie Salamacha Strong. Chris graduated from Mount Markham Central Schools and furthered his education at MMI Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ, and became a certified motorcycle mechanic for all the major manufacturing companies. He was employed as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in several companies in both Phoenix and Jacksonville.
Chris was a very fun loving person and will be dearly missed by his loving family and close friends. He enjoyed sailing, kayaking, motocross racing and fishing. Chris was an avid airsoft player and had many photos shared on the Secret Squirrel Airsoft website.
Surviving are his mother, Laurie, Jacksonville; father, Gary, Unadilla Forks; children, Tyler and Caiden Strong, Southside, FL; brother, Brett (April) Montileaux-Strong, Bridgewater; paternal grandmother, Doreen Strong and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph (Iva) Salamacha, paternal grandfather, Dale Strong and uncle, Michael Salamacha.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 4-5 pm at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 365 West Main St., West Winfield. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
