Christopher Valentin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home - Herrin on Mar. 9, 2026.
Christopher Angelo Valentin passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at the age of 30.
He was born Monday, December 18, 1995 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Angelo and Wanda (Ortiz) Valentin.
Christopher was the sweetest, most caring soul. He was a loving son, brother, and friend who loved animals and video games. Playing video games was his outlet and where he felt the most free. He loved that he could be anything he wanted in his virtual world. But most of all he loved his family. He loved them unconditionally. Whatever they asked of him and needed from him, he gave it with no questions asked. He didn't care for fancy things, brand name clothing, materialistic items. He only cared about expressing joy, love and laughter to whoever he was closest to. He was very humble and very simple. However he felt in the moment he never hid it. He let you know what he was thinking and how he felt right then and there. He had no filter and said things like they were. He was very honest and outspoken. Christopher had a pure heart with a loving character. He would never judge anyone and accepted you as you were. He deserved better than what he received from this life and the family prays that wherever he is, he's free from any binds or distress. "We love you Christopher! Even though we couldn't be there for you at the end, we will always remember the good times that we had with you and the amazing person that you were. May God carry you into his arms and place you in a seat next to him in heaven."
Christopher is survived by his mother- Wanda Valentin of Chicago; brother- Michael Valentin of Chicago; brother- Miguel Perez of Chicago; sister- Jasmine Fuerte of Chicago; and sister- Chanel Santillan of Chicago.
He is preceded in death by his father- Angelo Valentin- Father of Cleveland, Ohio.
A final family viewing was held at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, where the family gathered to say their final goodbye to their beloved son and brother.
