Christopher Richard Walton, born July 2, 1982, in Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 25th, 2025. Although his mailing address changed a few times throughout his life, Baldwin remained home to him, and he was a familiar presence in the community for a significant portion of his life.
Chris was well known for his long walks and bike rides around town. Most would also remember him for his deep fascination with weather, geography, and storms. He possessed an extraordinary memory for local and regional weather history. He could recall snowfall totals, rainfall amounts, and tornado EF ratings, often noting the exact day and time they occurred. Friends and family frequently turned to him when wondering what kind of weather the season might bring.
He remained closely connected to the family farm where he grew up and loved discussing crop yields, rainfall, and storm damage. Some of his fondest memories included trips to St. Paul with his grandfather hauling hogs, always followed by a stop at Dairy Queen on the way home.
Chris had a special connection with older generations and enjoyed spending time with elderly neighbors and family members. Whether he was making cash bets on the Packers/Vikings game or debating politics, he had unique bonds with each individual and valued these relationships. His routines, curiosity, and unique perspective left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents Richard Jr. and Pamela, and his grandparents Richard Sr. and Marlene.
He is survived by his sister Jessica (Remy and Ivan), brother and sister-in-law Justen and Ashley (Kasen and Oaklyn), sister JackyLyn Drexl, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A private burial will be held later this summer. The family appreciates the kindness and remembrance of all who knew him.
