Christopher C. Wissler, 55, of Spiceland, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1970, in New Castle, to Jack and Sue (Query) Wissler. Chris was a 1988 graduate of Tri High School and later received an associate's degree from Vincennes University in Aviation Maintenance.
Chris earned his solo pilot license before he could legally drive a car. He was an avid Harley-Davidson fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. His prized possession was a 2003 BMW M3 sports car.
Chris worked as a maintenance mechanic and later as an electrical maintenance engineer. He worked for a number of businesses including Valeo, TS Tech, NTN Driveshaft Inc., Draper Inc., and Boar's Head. His crowning achievement career-wise was his work on automated vision systems and authorship of many business-critical programs.
Chris is survived by son Nicholas Wissler of Spiceland, daughter Allison (Clayton Humphrey) Wissler, and sisters Lori (Jason) Wortham and Sandy (Rick Abney) Wissler-Smith as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above, sister Kathy Wasson and niece Victoria Lawson.
A memorial service to celebrate Chris's life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Spiceland Church of the Nazarene 6293 IN-3, Spiceland. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spiceland Church of the Nazarene.
