Christopher Leland Wysong

Christopher Leland Wysong, 55, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home in Ashland.

He was born on March 8, 1970, to Geraldine (Ball) Wysong and the late Daniel Leland Wysong. In addition to this father, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Sherry Wysong.

Christopher is survived by his mother Geraldine Wysong of Ashland, one brother, Jeffery Alen Wysong and his wife Jessica of Aberdeen, Ohio, two nephews, Danny Wysong and Dylan Wysong, one uncle, Larry Ball, two aunts, Barbara Davis and her husband Sam and Gale Clarke and her husband Buff, and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Chris was raised in the Community Presbyterian Church in Bellefonte where the foundation of his faith and character was formed. A lifelong learner, he pursued his education with dedication and distinction, attending the University of the South in Sweanee, Marshall University, and later graduate school at Louisiana State University.

Chris built a respected career as a chemist, a profession that perfectly suited his sharp mind and steady determination. He was especially proud of holding a chemical patent and contributing to several publications in his field. During his college years, he was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, forming friendships and memories that remained meaningful throughout his life. Chris will be remembered for his intelligence, his accomplishments, and the quiet pride he carried in his work and education.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Carman Funeral Home with Brother Darrel Allen officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, West Virginia.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the service hour, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Carman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be made to any local humane society of your choice in honor of Chris.
