Christy "Big Cheese" Branch

Christy Lashane Branch, AKA "Big Cheese", 49, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 22, 1976 to the late, Anderson Branch, Sr. and Carolyn Stapleton-Cox in Jesup, Ga. Christy was educated in the Wayne County Public School System and received her GED through Earl C. Clemmons Job Corp. She earned her certification in graphic designs, and her certification as a CNA and was employed at Jesup Health and Rehabilitation as well as at Healthy Pet.
Christy grew up as a child attending Emory Chapel United Methodist Church, she was a member of Resurrection Baptist Church and also attended Preparing The Way For The Lord Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Gossytea Makinwa-Sminaut in Glennville, Ga. In her free time, she enjoyed music, shopping, taking pictures and spending time with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anderson Branch, Sr.; her grandparents, Alice (Waymon) Stapleton, Essie Mae Bell, Mattie Reddish-Keaton, Azell Branch, Sr. and like a sister, Shonda Phillips.
Those left to cherish her memory: her mother, Carolyn (Buster) Cox, Ludowici, Ga.; her siblings, Anderson B. Branch, Jr., Jesup, Ga., Allison N. (Byron) Norman, Ludowici, Ga. and Antonio Pittman, Augusta, Ga.; her niece, Samioyah Middleton; her nephews, Jon Norman, Jr., Anderson Branch III and Antonio Pittman, Jr.; her close cousins and friends, Celeste Chancey, Trayvis King, Billy (Alicia) Dixon and Victoria Lambert and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends who will miss her immensely.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 @ 11:00 am at Jesup City Cemetery, 192 W. Poplar Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545
We suggest bringing your personal folding chairs for your convenience and comfort, as the chairs provided underneath the tent will be for the immediate family members.
Interment in Jesup City Cemetery.
